BSGI, a molecular imaging study of the breast, aids in the accurate and early detection of breast cancer. This innovative technology mimics mammographic views, providing a physiologic correlation to anatomical structure of the mammogram, regardless of tissue density.
Using a physiological approach to breast cancer detection allows for more specific evaluations and improved management of challenging cases. BSGI provides physiological data not available from any other imaging modality - helping to quickly determine the nature of suspicious lesions, and in many cases - the extent of disease.
- Documented high sensitivity for DCIS and lobular carcinomas
- High Sensitivity and specificity for subcentimeter lesions
- BSGI can be used for patients who cannot comply with MR due to body habitus, ferromagnetic implants or other issues
- Mimic all mammographic views for easy image correlation
- Helps evaluate the need and localize areas of interest for biopsy.
- One third the cost per procedure of MR or PET Studies
- High patient compliance and low false positive rate
- High negative predictive value
